Negotiations between merkel and putin can make 2017 decisive for Donbas, – Klymenko

Results of another negotiations on Donbas between the leaders of Russia and Germany put clear limits for implementation of the “Minsk” for Petro Poroshenko. It makes him to fulfil the signed agreements in the foreseeable future. It was written by Oleksandr Klymenko, the leader of the “Uspishna Kraina” and founder of the “Restoring Donbas” community initiative, on his Facebook page.

According to the politician, first of all, it comes about an acute issue of local elections in Donbas.

“Merkel will not listen to Poroshenko’s excuses à la «he was the first» or «he is shooting himself». In particular, the Chancellor has already said and confirmed: elections should be held in Donbas. End of discussion”, – the leader of the “Uspishna Kraina” emphasized.

In addition, Klymenko stated that the negotiations have determined the role of new conflict factors, such as “nationalization” of enterprises on the uncontrolled territories, during the implementation of the Minsk.

“Enterprises of Akhmetov that are externally controlled will not become the subject of bargaining for implementation of the Minsk. Thus, provisions that were previously provided by the agreement should be fulfilled. There will not be others”, – the founder of the “Restoring Donbas” stressed.

“All these facts prove the fact that Poroshenko will be caught and dressed down today on Bankova str. at night. However, it means that 2017 will become decisive for Donbas. Moreover, fateful decisions are coming”, – he summed up.

At the same time, Klymenko is confident that there is no hope for constructive negotiating position of Poroshenko in this situation. The politician believes in the role of foreign diplomacy and tough decisions of world leaders in establishment of peace and resolving Donbas problem.

Let us recall, on May 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held a meeting in Sochi. During the meeting, leaders of Russia and Germany discussed the problems of implementation of the Minsk agreements. They agreed that it is necessary to give a boost its realization.
