Authority and oligarchs are going to earn $ 208 billon for sale of Ukrainian land, – Oleksandr Klymenko
Current Ukrainian leadership is going to sell agricultural land in order to get a billion tranche from the IMF. It was written by Oleksandr Klymenko – the leader of the “Uspishna Kraina” party – on his Facebook page.
The politician notes that current government is ready to use all possible methods for the sake of achieving this goal. Such lever is the Constitutional Court that examines the law on the moratorium on sale of agricultural land in order to consider it to be illegal.
According to Klymenko, nowadays, agricultural land in Ukraine is 72.1% of the total area of the country. The area of the land is 41.7 million hectares. He also provides the data that nearly 300-320 million people (7 times more than Ukrainian population) can be fed via such land.
“The majority of the owners of land shares in Ukraine – is pensioners. During the last three years, the government has reduced the income of these citizens by 2.6 times (minimal pensions have been reduced from $ 119 to $ 46) and deprived them of basic means for existence. Nowadays, current leadership of the country wants to lift the moratorium in order to buy a land for a song. People will sell! They will sell it for any money. If they do not sell it, their stead will be taken away as it was during the privatization in the 90s (roughly and using force)”, – the politician is confident.
The leader of the “Uspishna Kraina” notes that nowadays, Ukrainian land is concentrated in hands of several oligarchs and foreign corporations. They are extremely interested in proceeding their business due to the fact that they will buy it for $ 300-800 per hectare (in fact, for nothing) after lifting the moratorium on Ukrainian black soil (its market price is $5000 per hectare).
“In future, the power and its oligarchs will earn at least $ 208 billion (about twenty Ukrainian pension funds) for the resale of the land”, – Klymenko noted.
The politician provides his own alternative variant of land reform in Ukraine. It comes about creation of unified comprehensive cadastre, working out mechanisms of functioning of the land market, protection of interests of villagers and setting limits on maximum size of land in the property. Such boundaries should be established within the limits of 2000 hectares per one agricultural economy. In addition, Klymenko offers to quit access (temporarily) to a land of legal entities and foreigners as it was carried out by the Polish people.
Moreover, the politician focused on necessity of development of rural infrastructure – construction of roads, hospitals, schools, sports facilities in order to create basic living conditions there. In order to make people to want to come and work in the countryside.
In addition, the leader of the “Uspishna Kraina” insists on the need in providing Ukrainian citizens, and especially the villagers, with affordable loans for the purchase of land, agricultural equipment, fertilizers, seed, fuel and other current assets. “In other words, there must be a strategy of working with the land that was mentioned above. It is necessary to remove the moratorium. However, nowadays, it is not the time. It should not be done just for the sake of credit as well as other things that have been done during the last year in our country”, – Klymenko sums up.
