Press service of Oleksandr Klymenko calls on Larisa Sargan to be objectivite and tolerant

The press service of Oleksandr Klymenko asks Larisa Sargan – press secretary of Yuriy Lutsenko, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine – to confirm evidence of her words posted on her Facebook page, or to refute in public speaking.

Mrs. Sargan stated: “After losing case in the Holosiivskyi court, the team of Oleksandr Klymenko (Minister of Revenue and Duties) urgently throw in the information to the media for bad money, she has a text of the informational message. Therefore, “she can easily verify the media hygiene of everyone.”

The press service of Oleksandr Klymenko informs Mrs. Sargan that the text of this report, which contains the statement of the politician’s defense, was sent to more than 500 Ukrainian and foreign media in order to inform public about grave violations and colossal pressure from the military prosecutor’s office to Kyiv Holosiivskyi District Court, where the Prosecutor’s request was considered during February 28 – March 1, 2017. We would like to duplicate it again to avoid any insinuations in future.

Mrs. Sargan is well-aware of the fact that communication between the media and journalists is the direct function of any authoritative press service.

The main function of each authoritative journalist is to provide people with objective information with a balance of points of view on the situation.

We are confident that Mrs. Sargan has sent more than one of such press releases over the years of the work.

In addition, we have an impression that the press service of Yuriy Lutsenko is more aware of posting paid materials in Ukrainian media without proper labelling and blocking the release of negative information than our press service.

We believe that Mrs. Sargan’s statement is the evidence of pressure on the media. It violates the freedom of speech and fundamental rights under Constitution of Ukraine and The European Convention on Human Rights.

The print screen of Mrs. Sargan’s post was sent to international human rights organizations of journalists, which are designed to monitor pressure on the media and censorship by the authorities.

We kindly ask to publicly confirm the existence of evidence of her words. Otherwise, we will have use legal mechanisms to protect the honour and reputation of representatives of the press service and our leader in the person of Oleksandr Klymenko.

Let us remind, earlier the press service of Oleksandr Klymenko made a statement that Kyiv Holosiivskyi District Court accepted the request for permission to carry out special (extramural) pre-trial investigation against Oleksandr Klymenko, the former Minister of Revenue and Duties. Such decision was made under enormous pressure of the Prosecution.
