Klymenko calculated the expenses for electricity after price growth since March 1
Since March 1, Ukrainian government will increase prices for electricity again. Oleksandr Klymenko – the leader of the «Uspishna Kraina» party – has calculated the expenses for electricity according to the new tariffs.
In particular, those, who consume the minimal amount of consumption (up to 100 kW / h) will pay 26% or UAH 18.6 hryvnia more per month. Basically it will affect people with low income.
Ukrainian family with an average electricity consumption (up to 300 kW / h) will be forced to pay UAH 96.6 hryvnia more (UAH 426), or 29.3%. If the person uses electric range or boiler in apartment, the cost will be increased up to UAH 230 (up to UAH 1602 per month).
The rate for supply more than 600 kW / h per month will remain almost at the same level. Nowadays, it is about 163.8 cents per 1 kW / h, starting from March 1, it will be amounted to 168 cents per kW / h, increased by 2%.
“It means that rather rich people, who presumably use more electricity, who have large houses with saunas, swimming pools, and other home appliances will pay more only by 5-9%,” – Klymenko wrote on his Facebook page.
In addition, according to him, it will be introduced the night tariff for electricity in the country.
“Starting from 11 P.M. to 7 A.M., the electricity will be cheaper. Thus, the power recommends you to wash, iron, use vacuum cleaner, learn homework at night, – the politician explained. – You can say that we can adapt! Of course we can. However, there is a nuance (the current government cannot operate without nuances)”.
According to Klymenko, Ukrainians should install new special dual-zone counter in order to count the electricity under a separate tariff at night. It costs nearly UAH 1,200 – 2,000. It will be pay for itself in a year or two.
“Installation of such an expensive device – is a luxury for citizens with little income. In general, the discount was offered to people, but few people will be able to take advantage of it”, – the leader of the “Uspіshna Kraina” concluded.
Let us recall, during the fall 2016, the party of Oleksandr Klymenko presented the draftlaw of Fair Tax Code, which has been worked out by the experts of the political force together with Ukrainian entrepreneurs. In particular, it offers to reduce the cost of utility services by reducing the VAT from 20% to 5%. According to estimates of Klymenko, this step will allow Ukrainian families to save for at least UAH 800 per month.
