Ukrainians were told about the price of the decommunization
Money, which would be spent on mass decommunization, could resolve a range of important problems. For instance, it comes about social benefits of IDPs, repair of roads, medical assistance to cancer patients. However, instead of this, authorities inject renaming cities and streets with communist impudence, not always taking into account the opinion of the citizens. Oleksandr Klymenko, an honourable head of the “Uspishna Kraina”, commented the decision of the Verkhovna Rada on renaming Dnepropetrovsk to Dnepr in his article titled «Decommunization: a question of worth».
Let us remind, on May 20, 247 MPs voted for the decision to rename the city of Dnepropetrovsk to Dnepr as well as other cities in Dnepropetrovsk, Luhansk, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad and other regions.
According to the politician, decommunization itself as a process of changing the consciousness, psychology, way of thinking and mentality – is correct path, which is really needed. If this process is sustained, not imposed from above. Instead of it, Ukraine is decommunizated by a real communist swoop: we will catch up and overtake. It is the best precepts of communism. By all means. The opinion of the Ukrainians is not always taken into account.
Klymenko is confident that, first of all, it is necessary to deal with economy and bureaucracy, and then with communism. According to the estimates of the politician, the country will spend from UAH 4.5 to 6 billion for decommunization. In addition, it is necessary to reprint maps and guides, to write new addresses in “Ukrposhta”, to change train schedule, road signs, stamps of registration in passports, new forms of public institutions.
Klymenko reminds that we could pend this enormous sum on other things. Thus, we could solve the problem with social benefits for IDPs and residents of ATO area. Moreover, this money could be spent on repair of roads, funding the annual need for cancer treatment of adults, provide vocational training: «Eventually, it would be possible to fund the rearmament of the military», – Klymenko summed up.
In addition, he reminds that business also will spend money on expanses related to documents. It comes about changing the documents, manufacturing of dies and signage, and printing advertising. Some of them will have to spend on the rebranding of its nomenclature. The production of the enterprises with “wrong” names will rise by 1.5%.
Klymenko writes that in this situation, «every penny from the state budget should be spent in order to bring the maximum effect in solving the urgent problems. It should provide a basis for future economic prosperity». However, the head pf the «Uspishna Kraina» explains that money is spent on large-scale propaganda.
«Nowadays, Ukraine is ruled by populists, who are ready to jeopardize the prospects of the country for the sake of their short-term political ambitions and dishonest profit. They will get it as long as we keep silence and agree with everything. Do not you think that it is time to break the silence? », – Oleksandr Klymenko summed up.
